System Requirements

Orchid Herd Management software runs on the Microsoft Windows™ platform (Windows 98™, Me™, 2000™, XP™ and Vista™).  If you are buying a new computer, virtually all specifications now supplied will be more than adequate, but the following specification is given as a broad guide:

Intel Pentium™ 4  2.4GHz (or equivalent)
256MB RAM
40 GB hard disk drive

As an absolute minimum specification, our software will run on older Windows™ systems, for example Pentium™ processor (or equivalent) 600 MHz, 64MB RAM, 6GB hard disk drive.  The Orchid program will require about 50MB (mega bytes) of hard disk space, but it is advisable to have at least 1GB of free disk space for the smooth running of the Microsoft Windows™ Operating System.

The Orchid software will require an Internet connection if you intend to use the CTS Web Services for cattle passport and movement applications.  Either a dial-up modem connection or a broadband service can be used.
