Dairy Software

Orchid Dairy is a comprehensive herd management software package.  The software will perform all legislative record keeping for official purposes (DEFRA inspections, Herd Register, BCMS passports and movements).  The system will record farm veterinary and medicine records to comply with the farm assurance schemes for milk and meat withdrawal periods.

For linking to the BCMS, Orchid uses the CTS Web Services so that you can apply for passports and notify movements directly via the Internet. Legislative record-keeping, full data analysis and a wide range of data import/export options can all included in one easy-to-use package.

Analysis functions include herd fertility monitoring, breeding selection, milk yields and cell counts, milk production forecasting and dairy enterprise costings.

The system produces a full range of reports for all areas of management.  The “Your Herd Today” screen shows action lists of animals under management headings. For example, “Due for Service", “Due for Dry off”, "No visible oestrus").

The software functions are grouped into “modules” so that you can select a software package suited to the needs of your enterprise.   Your herd records are stored in a database on your computer’s hard drive; you only need to connect to the Internet to transmit data to the BMCS or to download data from a milk recording agency web site.
