Orchid Beef

Orchid Beef is a herd management package tightly focused on the needs of the U.K. beef farming industry post-CAP reform.  The software is suitable for extensive beef finishing systems and suckler enterprises.

The program will perform all legislative record keeping for official purposes (DEFRA inspections, Herd Register, BCMS passports and movements).  The system will record veterinary and medicine data to comply with the farm assurance schemes.

For linking to the BCMS, Orchid uses the CTS Web Services, which allows you to apply for passports and notify movements directly via the Internet.

You can record purchase and sale prices to produce sale margin reports.  If you weigh animals regularly you can record weights and even import from CSV (spreadsheet) file (Tru-Test Link 2000 software).

Improve speed of recording new animals onto the system using a barcode reader to scan the barcodes on cattle passports and movement cards.

The software functions are grouped into “modules” so that you can select a package suited to the needs of your enterprise.   Your herd records are saved in a database, which is stored on your computer’s hard drive.  You only need to connect to the Internet to transmit data to the BMCS or to download data from a milk recording agency web site.

Legislative record-keeping, full data analysis and a wide range of data import/export options are all included in one easy-to-use package.
